Indiana Jones and the Great Circle lacks “Full Ray Tracing” in early access
PC’s “Full Ray Tracing” mode for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will not be available until December 9th
If you were looking forward to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, you may have bought the game’s premium edition. This version of the game comes with three days of early access, allowing gamers to play the game starting today. Sadly, it has been confirmed that this early access version of the game will not include the game’s top visual settings on PC. Indiana Jones’ “Full Ray tracing” mode will not be available until the game’s day-1 patch lands on December 9th.
With the game’s “full ray tracing” mode, shadows, reflections, and global illumination will all be updated through the power of path tracing. This will place a heavy strain on graphics cards, so much so that DLSS upscaling and frame generation is pretty much required to get playable framerates in this high-fidelity graphics mode.
On December 9th, Full Ray Tracing will further upgrade Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PC. Also known as Path Tracing, Full Ray Tracing is a demanding but highly accurate way to render light and its effect on a scene, used by visual effects artists to create film and TV graphics that are indistinguishable from reality. Until the arrival of GeForce RTX GPUs with RT Cores, and the AI-powered acceleration of NVIDIA DLSS, full ray tracing in real-time video games was impossible.
Following the release of the update, shadows, reflections, and global illumination will all be accurately rendered in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle using Full Ray Tracing, elevating image quality. And with DLSS 3âs performance multiplier, GeForce RTX 40 Series gamers will have the power to enjoy Indiana Jones and the Great Circleâs Full Ray Tracing at the highest detail levels and resolutions.

Furthermore, Nvidia has confirmed to us that DLSS Ray Reconstruction will be “coming soon” to the game. This should further enhance the game’s full ray tracing mode on compatible Nvidia hardware.
Why is this mode unavailable during early access? Our guess is that Machine Games wants early-access players to have a better time running the game on their PCs. After all, full ray tracing mode is only designed for ultra-high-end PCs. Beyond that, it is pretty much only made with GeForce RTX GPUs in mind. Without this mode, early performance impressions for the game will be better. These early impressions are important, as they will help drive sales for this game.
