Intel partners with EA to Optimise Battlefield 6 on PC
Battlefield 6 will feature XeSS 2 and be optimised for Intel Core Ultra CPUs at launch
Intel has announced a “full PC partnership” with EA for Battlefield 6, with both companies working to optimise the game’s PC version. This will optimise the upcoming first-person shooter for Intel Core, Core Ultra, and Intel ARC devices. This includes Intel CPU, graphics cards, and PC handhelds.
At launch, Battlefield 6 will support Intel’s XeSS 2 technology, adding Intel’s AI Super Resolution, Frame Generation, and Low Latency technologies to the game. Currently, it is unknown if the game will support XeSS 2.0 or XeSS 2.1 at launch. Intel XeSS 2.1 allows Intel’s XeSS features to be used with both Intel and non-Intel graphics cards.
CPU-wise, Intel has worked to ensure that Battlefield 6 features “scheduler optimisation” to ensure that game processes are running on the “right threads at the right time”. These optimisations reportedly “ensure a smooth player experience.”
Intel and EA Announce PC Optimization Partnership for Battlefield 6
The two companies are working closely on performance optimizations for the upcoming entry in the legendary Battlefield series
What’s New: Intel and EA announced their full PC partnership for Battlefield 6 – the latest entry in the long running Battlefield series, launching in October 2025. The partnership includes significant collaboration between Intel and EA to optimize Battlefield 6 for Intel Core, Intel Core Ultra, and Intel Arc-powered PCs and handhelds, including support for Intel technologies such as XeSS 2.
“Battlefield 6 is an incredible showcase for what gamers can do on an Intel-powered system, and we’re honored to be working with EA to help deliver an experience worthy of the Battlefield franchise. Bringing Intel features like XeSS 2 to Battlefield 6 at launch means players are going to get the best experience when they game on an Intel-powered system.” Said Nicolas Thibieroz, Senior Director, Game Engineering, Intel.
“Battlefield 6 represents an all-new level of ambition and dedication to the franchise and to our players’ experience,” says Christian Buhl, Studio Technical Director. “Intel have been incredible partners to work with when it comes to building the best possible experience for our Intel PC players when they experience All Out Warfare this October.”
Why it Matters: Intel and EA have been working closely to finetune Battlefield 6 on both Intel Core and Core Ultra processors. This includes scheduler optimizations which ensure the game processes are running on the right threads, at the right time, to ensure a smooth player experience.
Additionally, Battlefield 6 will come equipped with Intel XeSS 2 technologies right at launch – boosting framerates and fluidity while keeping visual quality and game responsiveness. The full suite of XeSS 2 technologies – including XeSS Super Resolution (SR), XeSS Frame Generation (FG), and Xe Low Latency (LL) – run most efficiently on Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2) with built-in Intel Arc 100V and 100T series GPUs, as well as Intel Arc A- and B-series GPUs.
Battlefield 6 is scheduled to launch on the EA App on October 10, 2025, and in the interim players should check out the developer’s blog for the latest updates on the work Intel and EA are doing in the run-up to launch. Players can also participate in the Battlefield 6 open beta, which will include Intel’s XeSS 2 integration, once it goes live later this summer.
