PC gamers get Monster Hunter Rise running at 1620p at 60 FPS through Emulation
Through emulation, PC gamers can play the latest Monster Hunter game at higher framerates and at higher resolutions than Switch users, delivering a smoother gameplay experience and much sharper visuals. The video below from BSoD Gaming showcases how emulation has made Monster Hunter Rise playable on PC mere days after the game’s Switch launch.Â
While the gameplay below didn’t run at a perfect 60 FPS at all times, it is worth remembering that this game is capped at 30 FPS on Switch and that this game is being emulated on PC. A proper PC version of Monster Hunter Rise will likely run at much higher framerates, as hardware emulation has a lot of overheads.Â
The gameplay below was recorded using an Intel i7-10700K processor at 5.2GHz and a Geforce RTX 3070 graphics card. Further improvements to the Ryujinx may allow Monster Hunter Rise to run at higher framerates on PC in the future, as Switch emulators are still relatively new and have plenty of room for optimisation.Â
