The Elder Scrolls Skyblivion has been delayed
Skyblivion has been delayed until 2026
Skyblivion, the ambitious modding project that’s bringing The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion into Skyrim, has been delayed. The mod is now due to launch in 2026, with TESRenewal’s lead developers, Rebelzize, releasing a detailed video on Skyblivion’s progress. This mod is a remake of The Elder Scrolls Oblivion, not a remaster. As such, it will look and play very differently from Bethesda’s official remaster of the game.
Most of the mod is complete, aside from some elements of the Imperial City. The mod is almost finished, and many of the mod’s incomplete parts are now due to be finished in Q1 2026. In the video below, fans of the mod can get a look at exactly how far along the mod is.
To let gamers get an early look at Skyblivion’s reworked map, the mod’s team has released an interactive map to showcase their recreated game world. It is available to view here.
As a project by fans, for fans, we need a little more time to ensure Skyblivion lives up to the standards you all deserve. Our anticipated release window is moving into 2026.
It’s not all bad news: Our new interactive map tool is live! While you wait, you can now explore the full, finished world of Cyrodiil from the snowy Jerall Mountains to the sand-swept beaches of the Gold Coast.

Post-launch plans
After launch, the TESRenewal Team plans to patch their mod to improve its stability and to add new features and content. Note that at launch, the mod will not include all of Oblivion’s DLC content. This content will be added to the mod later. Additionally, features like Spellcrafting, new spells, more creature variety, more followers, and dynamic dungeons are listed as “post-release features”. This means that even after its release, Skyblivion will not be “finished”.
