You’ll need a beefy system to run Code Vein 2 at 60+ FPS

Here’s what you need to run Code Vein 2 on PC

Bandai Namco has unveiled the PC system requirements for Code Vein 2, confirming that gamers will need a modern system to run the game at 60+ FPS framerates.

While its predecessor is a fairly lightweight PC title, its sequel isn’t. It calls for a GPU like Nvidia’s RTX 3080 or AMD’s RX 6800 to run at “stable over 60” framerates at 1080p. For higher resolutions, gamers will need even more powerful hardware. As with most new games, SSD storage and at least 16GB of RAM are recommended.

For those who want to play the original Code Vein, the game is currently £5.99 on Steam. That’s an 85% discount from its usual price. Since the sequel is launching on January 29th, now is a great time to play the original.

Code Vein 2 PC System Requirements

Code Vein 2’s recommended system specifications are absurd. For AMD users, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU is recommended. That’s one of the most powerful gaming CPUs available. For Intel, the i7-12700KF is recommended. This CPU is a little older, but it is still pretty high-end.

GPU-wise, the modern equivalents of this game’s recommended GPUs are Nvidia’s RTX 5060 Ti and AMD’s RX 9060 XT. Sadly, Bandai Namco has not listed VRAM recommendations for this game. However, it is worth noting that this game’s recommended GPUs are 10GB (RTX 3080) and 16GB (RX 6800), respectively.

Given the game’s hardware recommendations, it may be difficult to run Code Vein II at 60+ FPS on sub-£300 graphics cards. Note that Intel’s ARC B580 GPU is not listed as a recommended graphics card.

Code Vein II launches on January 29th

On PC, Code Vein 2 will be available through Steam. The game launches on January 29th. If you purchase the game’s Deluxe or Ultimate Editions, the game will be available three days early through advanced access.

Sadly, Bandai Namco has not unveiled whether Code Vein 2 will support modern PC upscalers. If the game supports FSR, DLSS, and XeSS, gamers will be able to use these features to play the game at higher framerates on lower-end hardware. If not, many PC gamers will have trouble playing Code Vein 2 at high framerates. Since this is a Souls-like game, this will make the game harder to play. After all, high frame rates improve game responsiveness.
