1TB Huawei 200E PCIe 4.0 SSD spotted for £26 in Korea

South Korean retailer lists Huawei’s 1TB Xtreme 200E SSD for £26

The eKitStore Xtreme 200E PCIe 4.0 SSD from Hauwei has been listed for an absurdly low price at a South Korean retailer. Just £26 (excluding VAT) for a 1TB SSD. For those in the USA, that’s around $32.

This SSD boasts read speeds of up to 7,400 MB/s and write speeds of up to 6,700 MB/s. The drive itself uses QLC NAND and an unknown SSD controller. Given how heavily sanctioned Hauwei is in the West, this SSD is unlikely to become available outside of the Asian market.

Currently, it is unknown why this SSD is available for so little. This ultra-low price is likely a temporary discount, and it is unknown if this drive is being sold at a profit or a loss. Either way, we don’t expect to see this level of pricing for 1TB of storage in the UK anytime soon. It’s hard to get any PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD in the UK for under £50.

Is Huawei hoping to boost its brand recognition with low-cost SSDs? Is this a sign that NAND/SSD pricing will decrease in 2025? Who knows… Regardless, we are unlikely to see this SSD in the Western market, given the current sanctions on Huawei.
