Toshiba reveals their XG 5 series of M.2 NVMe SSDs
Â
Toshiba has revealed their new XG 5 series of M.2 NVMe SSDs, using the company’s new 64-layer 3D TLC NAND to offer premium performance levels.
Â
This new SSD will come with capacities of 256GB, 512GB and 1TB and offer sequential speeds of up to 3,000 MB/s read and 2,100 MB/s write, making this Toshiba’s fastest consumer M.2 SSD to date. Using this SSD’s SLC-Cache feature, the drive will treat a portion of this SSD as 1 bit per cell SLC NAND and use this portion of this SSD for new writes to then move this data into TLC NAND for future use.Â
