Corsair HS35 Headset Review

Like all of the Corsair packaging the HS35 is extremely yellow with a clear product image, comprehensive specification table, and the all important connectivity option list. Which, given the flexibility of the HS35 could very well just read “everything”.

The first thing that strikes you about the HS35 is its lightness. With 50mm stereo drivers the ear-pieces are lighter than a lot of the multi-driver surround options, and the ABS shell construction is sturdy without being as heavy as a ‘luxury’ finish might be. It is exactly as much headset as you need.

Rather than going for the always annoying inline controls Corsair have equipped the HS35 with on ear controls. The volume wheel has clear end points rather than infinitely spinning so it’s easy to reliably hit the volume you require, Below that we have the all-important microphone mute button to save you broadcasting things you’d rather keep private.

The microphone itself is a removable one so you can wear the Corsair HS35 out and about without looking like an idiot. You can also see how deep the foam padding on the ears is, which helps both insulate you from the noise outside whilst also making the HS35 comfortable to wear.

This comfort is aided by one of the thickest headband foam padding arrangements we’ve seen in quite some time. With plenty of height adjustment too and that aforementioned low weight the HS35 is an easy wear.

The microphone design will be familiar to anyone who has used a headset in the past. It is a very flexible arm that stays where it is placed and utilises a “only fits one way” connector into the ear piece so it will always be the right way around.
