Creative T50 Wireless Speakers Review

Conclusion

Usually speakers come in two distinct types. There are the ones which are very square in design but pump out some gorgeous sounds, and there are ones which have been designed to look fabulous on the shelf, but maybe at the cost of their performance. We’re pretty old-school here at OC3D in that we tend to value performance over looks if all other things are equal, but T50 Wireless from Creative manage to tick both boxes in a big way.

There is no denying that they look fantastic. The piano black finish is always a classy way to go and the gold speaker cones aid a touch of quality and break up what would otherwise be a sea of black. Additionally they have a gorgeous curve to them which almost makes you want to stroke them. At the very least it means that the T50 Wireless look modern, but the decision to go with a deep, curved, back means that the sound quality hasn’t been compromised on the altar of the aesthetic. Those modern looks are matched by the connectivity options available. It’s one thing to have a set of speakers which support Bluetooth audio protocols, and the T50 Wireless has that covered, but the addition of NFC pairing means that swapping from your TV or Computer to your phone/MP3 player is a matter of moments. These are extremely versatile. One second you’re listening to the TV, the next your console, and a jiffy later you’re sharing whatever is on your media weapon of choice. Even if you’ve only got an audio source produced before the days of wireless connectivity then the T50 Wireless have you covered there with the 3.5mm jack and, thankfully, supplied cable being all that separates your 80s tape-only Walkman from your speakers.

Such a wealth of connection options and simplicity of achieving them would be nice but fairly meaningless if the audio reproduction wasn’t of the highest standard. Thankfully the Creative T50 Wireless sound amazing. With plenty of space inside the cabinets for the soundwaves to breathe, and some big ports on the top to blast it out, you don’t miss a dedicated subwoofer at all. Only if you’re the most extreme basshead could you find anything to quibble about. By virtue of their plentiful connection options it makes perfect sense that Creative have tuned the sound profile to best suit a wide range of applications and so it proves, with the three speakers bringing richness and a broad spectrum of sounds to their full vibrant heights. Whether we were playing music, watching television, or rampaging through a raft of games we purchased in the recent Steam sales, the audio from the Creative T50 Wireless was tremendous.

They look amazing, connectivity is an absolute breeze and the audio reproduction is worthy of a product costing twice the price. The Creative T50 Wireless speakers are all things to all people and an easy winner of our OC3D Gold Award.
