Up Close

This definitely isn’t your average set of speakers. We’re so used to generic black boxes that are achingly square and uninteresting that to see a set in gleaming white, and shaped far more artistically than merely being a housing for the speakers, is a joy.

As you can see from the picture above the satellites are taller than your average model. One fairly surprising thing to note is that they are hard-wired together. This isn’t a big issue because the join is right at the jack, and you’d have to wire them both in together anyway. It was still something we’re unaccustomed to.

The underside of the sub holds all the connection points for the volume control, satellite speakers, power and of course audio input. Above that you can just see the down-facing sub-woofer, which is quite a rare design. On the left hand side of the right hand picture you can see the bass adjuster which allows you to tune it to your preference.

The volume control apes the triangular nature of the main element of the Prisma, and has a lovely smooth action. Although not hugely clear in the photo the black bit hides a headphone jack.
