Be Quiet Silent Loop 3 420mmm CPU Liquid Cooler Review
Meet the be quiet Silent Loop 3 420
It’s time to test the new be quiet Silent Loop 3 420mm
be quiet has just launched its new Silent Loop 3 series of CPU liquid coolers, and today, we will be testing the company’s 420mm model. This new CPU cooler will also be available in 360mm and 240mm variants, all of which feature RGB lighting elements on its CPU block/pump element.
This new series of CPU coolers is about delivering strong levels of CPU performance to the masses. These coolers will ship with Silent Wings 4 series fans and a new 6-pole, 3-chambered motor design. This design reduces turbulence and noise compared to be quiet’s older AIOs, helping them live up to their “Silent Loop” name. Additionally, this new AIO features an “easy to access” refill port to make long-term maintenance convenient.
Unboxing the be quiet Silent Loop 3
Unboxing the new Silent Loop 3 is pretty standard fare. Every component is wrapped up in a plastic bag, except for the AIO’s accessories (mounts, screws, etc) and the liquid cooler’s radiator. These elements have cardboard coverings.
Unlike some modern AIOs, be quiet’s Silent Loop 3 doesn’t ship with pre-fitted fans. Users need to install these fans themselves. While this doesn’t take much time, those who want a faster PC building experience should consider this.
Note that this AIO ships with a bottle of coolant, which will be useful for anyone who wants to use this cooler long-term. This will allow you to top up this cooler with extra coolant over time, giving it a longer lifespan if well maintained.
While this pump/block has RGB elements, simply turning these elements off will make this AIO highly suitable for non-RGB PCs. This pump looks great without lighting.
Threadripper support
Both the 360mm and 420mm versions of the Silent Loop 3 include mounts for AMD’s Threadripper CPU socket. Yes, this AIO is Threadripper-ready! Just look at the size of that cold plate! This AIO is suitable for high-end AMD Threadripper-powered workstations; PCs with insane core counts for insane workloads.
