Cooler Master Cosmos Infinity 30th Anniversary Review

Conclusion

As we said at at the beginning, it’s been a bit of a change to the way we approach case reviews when dealing with the Cooler Master Cosmos Infinity 30th Anniversary. Most cases don’t come in limited numbers, or with custom AIOs, or such price tags. The price point and LE nature probably mean that even if you wanted one it’s too late.

However, what it does is make us extremely jealous of anyone lucky enough to get their hands on them. Everyone has a different thing they desire from a case. Some want the giant square style for hiding things away, some want a tiny one you can use as a HTPC, some, like the boss, want theirs in white. The Cooler Master Cosmos has always been my personal favourite case and seeing what Cooler Master have done to it only makes me yearn for it even harder. By default the Cosmos is built like a tank and has plenty of touches that make building a system nice and easy. It’s the little things that help it stand out though. The side panels are curved and hinged with magnetic retainers, so you’re not faffing around with tiny screws and a latches that are unwilling to keep things in place, yet are simple to remove for building your case without fear of breaking them.

The 30th Anniversary edition is based on the C700M, so you already get the external lighting of the C700 upgraded to ARGB, and the Infinity ups the stakes by giving you custom Chameleon paint on the handles which is achingly beautiful in the flesh. The removeable motherboard tray has the Cooler Master lozenge as the CPU cooler cutout, and behind that is a giant 30 to remind you how special this is. The 30 extends to the supplied AIO, whilst a badge on the front of the PSU cover tells the world which number you were lucky enough to get. The attention to detail is so great that the back of the motherboard tray, normally hidden behind a mass of cables and an opaque door, has CNC aluminium milling and a 30th Anniversary plate as well as a 30th branded glass door on the back! Better get your cable management skills polished quick sharp.

The Cooler Master Cosmos Infinity 30th Anniversary Edition is the ultimate expression of what Cooler Master are about as a company, and the ultimate version of their wildly successful case. It kept our cutting edge system cool even under the harshest loadings, as befits its great lineage. The only negative is that it’s in such limited numbers, and the exclusivity brings with it that high price tag.
