Cooler Master TD500 Mesh v2 PC Case Review
A 2023 Revamp of an already great Cooler Master chassis
We are well within the era of the remake/remaster, so much so that remakes are often more highly anticipated than new IPs or something completely fresh. It is easy to see why remakes or remasters are so appealing. If the original was great, surely its new version will also be great, especially if the original has started to age due to its graphics, or technological underpinning.
So why are we talking about remakes? Today we are looking at Cooler Master’s TD500 Mesh v2, a revamp of Cooler Master’s popular TD500 Mesh chassis. With their new TD500 Mesh v2, Cooler Master plans to deliver gamers a stronger case design while maintaining low pricing. In other words, Cooler Master wants to create a budget gaming champion.
With the TD500 Mesh v2, gamers should expect a lot of minor design improvements, and some major ones.Â
Like its predecessor, the TD500 Mesh V2 ships with three 120mm ARGB fans, and in addition to this the V2 also comes with an ARGB fan/RGB controller. Beyond that, the Mesh V2 also comes with a tool-free tempered glass side panel, which means that users of the case will not need to remove and re-add four screws every time they remove or re-apply their side panel.
Another neat add-on for the V2 is that the case’s top panel is removable, making motherboard installation and AIO/fan installation a breeze. Not bad for a sub-£100 case.
With the TD500 Mesh V2, Cooler Master are offering PC builders an affordable airflow-oriented case design that offers PC builders many of the modern features that they expect from more premium case designs. Cooler Master has also showcased their willingness to listen to customers by upgrading the original TD500 Mesh in ways that make the case more versatile and easier to use.Â
Below are the TD500 Mesh V2’s key features;
Polygonal Mesh â Crafted from Cooler Masterâs Fine Mesh technology, Polygonal Mesh features a three-dimensional contour and is also capable of simultaneously providing high airflow and dust filtration.
Triple ARGB Fans â Three addressable RGB fans flood the Polygonal Mesh front panel with lighting while providing considerable airflow to the system.
USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C Support â USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C port built into the I/O panel allows multi-purpose, streamlined data transmission.
Versatile Cooling Options â Support for up to seven 120mm fans and 360mm front and top radiator support ensure that performance is not compromised.
Tool-Free Crystalline TG Side Panel â A crystalline design spans the edges of the tempered glass side panel, completely toolless for quick access to the internals. An optional screw can be installed to further secure the tempered glass side panel.
PSU Shroud With Removable Cover –Â TD500 Mesh V2âs removable PSU cover allows users to freely showcase unique PSU designs or keep PSUs hidden for a stealthier aesthetic. When not in use, the PSU cover can be stored on the motherboard tray for easy safekeeping.
Removable Top Panel â The top panel is entirely removable for improved access to the components during assembly. Ease of use also facilitates the mounting of cooling solutions such as fans and radiators.
Pricing and Specifications
As we have mentioned before, Cooler Master aimed to deliver their TD500 Mesh v2 at an affordable price point, despite the fact that this case comes with three ARGB fans, a fan controller, a tempered glass side panel and other premium features. With a UK MSRP of £99.99, this case has the trappings of a budget gaming champion, assuming that this case performs as expected, and its meshed front can deliver strong airflow.
The Cooler Master TD500 Mesh v2 will be available in both black and white, with all models of the case coming with three 120mm ARGB fans.Â
