Corsair H100i RGB Platinum and H115i RGB Platinum Review
Thermal Results
I’ll be honest; when we first had a look at these results, we thought that they were a little too good to be true, so much so that we conducted a lot of retesting and had a lengthy phone call with our Corsair rep to discuss our findings. Our first thought was this, how did Corsair manage to get their H100i and H115i RGB Platinum series coolers so close to their 360mm H150i PRO RGB?
The reasoning behind these changes is twofold, as first, we have adjustments to Corsair’s AIO design, and second we have changed to the unit’s included fans.
On the AIO front, we have already discussed how Corsair has moved towards a custom CoolIT design, using what Corsair calls an “optimised” cold plate that offers a wide surface area and improved thermal transfer rates. When it comes to fans, the RGB fans included with the AIO operate at higher speeds than the H1XXi PRO RGB series, adding another way for Corsair to improve their thermal performance.
These changes combined have allowed the H100i/H115i RGB Platinum to reach for the top of our cooling leaderboards, though as you can see in the chart below, using the AIO’s quieter fan profiles will result in reduced thermal performance. Even so, both units offer impressive out of the box performance, as most users should be using Corsair’s “Balanced” fan profile.
