Corsair iCUE H100i and H150i Elite Capellix White
Up Close
Corsair packaging is incredibly familiar to us by now. The black front with clear product imagery surrounded by the Corsair Gaming Yellow – yes we know they don’t strictly have a gaming subsidary these days but it’s where the yellow first appeared – makes it easy to spot from a long way away. Putting the H100i on top of the H150i gives you a good indication of the size difference between the two as well.
Both the H100i and H150i Elite Capellix have basically identical specifications with ML120 RGB fans having 8 addressable RGB LEDs on each fan, should you fancy flexing your creative muscles.
We love that everything besides the pump base is white. Corsair haven’t taken half measures of giving you a white radiator and black fans, or black hosing. Everything is white to perfectly blend into a suitable chassis.
The H150i is the same but 360 instead of 240, and thus gets an extra ML120 fan. The fans support up to 2400 RPM which should be enough even if you’re attempting to cool a Threadripper CPU, something you could easily do thanks to the complete socket support from the Elite Capellix range. You’d have to go a long way into history to find a socket that it doesn’t support, and if you have such a system you’re better off upgrading rather than cooling it better.
The H150i radiator is surprisingly slender, measuring 397mm long by 120mm deep and only 27mm thick. That could make all the difference if you’ve got a case that’s a little tight for room at the top. You can also see the pump harness is attached out of the box. Hopefully one day a company will work out how to solve this last little bit of tidying we need to do, but thankfully the cables are black so should blend into your motherboard with some careful routing.
The pump itself has 33 LEDs across 21 zones, letting you really go to town in the iCUE Software suite to tailor it to your liking. With a 65mm micro-skived copper plate it gives plenty of coverage for your CPU ensuring that you get the maximum cooling effect.
We don’t think we’re alone in always fearing the hoses on our AIOs. We know that they’re extremely robust these days both in terms of the fantastic braiding as well as the connection points, but the high flow nature of modern pumps gives us the shivers to imagine how quickly our system would be sprayed should we not give our full attention when installing. Thankfully the Elite Capellix lives up to its name with some tremendous braiding quality and very robust attachment points.
