Lian Li LANCOOL III Review – The Best Case of 2022?

Being a case that is designed the cooling in mind, the LANCOOL III only ships with a meshed front panel. There is no need for dedicated airflow model when all models are the airflow model.
LIAN LI has informed us that their “fine mesh” has a 51% porosity, allowing the three 140mm fans behind it to breathe freely. Depending on the model you purchase, these fans can be RGB fans or non-RGB fans, with the RGB version of this case costing $10 more.
One of our favourite features of the LANCOOL III is how its side panel is attached. Both tempered glass side panels are hinged on one side and magnetically fastened on the other. To release these side panels, you need to pull the latch shown below, allowing you to easily open this case’s side panel without gripping or smudging your tempered glass.
This is a brilliant feature, and something that most other manufacturers would not have considered designing or manufacturing. This gives the LANCOOL III a luxury feel, and gives the case a little of the wow factor that you should expect from a case at this pricepoint.
Moving to the top of the LANCOOL III, we can see that LIAN LI has taken liquid cooling seriously. We have offset fan mounts, we have a mounting spot for a fill port, and we have enough clearance to easily mount a 30mm radiator with fans in this case without interfering with our motherboard’s RAM slots. That means that we can use large memory modules without fear of hitting them with our liquid cooling components. Nice!
At the rear of this LANCOOL III’s side panel is plenty of space for cable management, velco ties, and covers that can hide almost all cable clutter. This is great news, because the LANCOOL III has two tempered glass side panels, making this area of the case visible.
Two 2.5-inch mounting slots are visible, allowing you to showcase two of your 2.5-inch SSDs or other 2.5-inch accessories, though multiple other 2.5-inch mounting slots are available in hidden areas.
We can see modders applying custom artwork to the cover panels on this case, giving users something to look at through their tempered glass windows. That said, some will enjoy the simple appeal of well executed cable management.
Below we can see LAIN LI’s intended pump/reservoir mounting area, which can be adjusted to suit your specific needs. The cable management grommets on this panel can also be adjusted/moved to be located at an ideal location for your motherboard. This is great news for EATX motherboard users, as these ultra-wide motherboards often has poor cable management options, even in larger cases.
