Phanteks Evolv Series X2 PC Case Review

Conclusion – The Best PC Case of 2025?

This is the best case of 2025 so far

We’ve been trying to get a Phanteks Evolv Series X2 to review for months. At first glance, we knew that Phanteks had created something special. It even became a talking point as we discussed PC cases with other vendors. We had to have a deeper look at it. That’s why we bought one. That’s why we’re reviewing this case today.

Let’s start with this case’s aesthetic. This case looks phenomenal. Its wrap-around glass aesthetic blends seamlessly with this case’s ultra-clean design. The case’s use of RGB is subtle, but elegant, and its brushed aluminium elements look incredible. While some people have complained about this case’s use of plastic, we counter that its plastic elements are rarely detrimental to its overall design. They are what make this case shockingly accessible. This case is a bargain at £139.99.

We’ve recently reviewed other “premium” cases, cough, the Cooler Master MasterFrame 600, cough, and the Evolv Series X2 is the opposite of that chassis. Yes, it isn’t as versatile as the MasterFrame. However, it executes everything it tries to do well. It’s a case that’s easy to build in, easy to understand, and incredibly refined.

Solid airflow, excellent cable management

With its chimney stack design, the airflow pattern of this case is easy to understand. Air enters at the bottom and exits at the top. Ideally, users will have a 360mm liquid cooling radiator at the top of this case and three 120mm fans at the bottom. That way, intake air is directly pushed towards your graphics card, and CPU heat is pushed immediately out of the case.

Good cable management will help with airflow inside this case, as this case’s intake fans pull air through the PSU chamber of the Evolv Series X2. If this case is used with something like Corsair’s Shift series PSUs, which have side-mounted cables, users can fully optimise this case for ideal airflow. This would maximise intake air and help lower system thermals.

Overall, this case’s cable management features are excellent. There are even Velcro ties for this case’s rear I/O cables, allowing users to tidy their keyboard/mouse and other cables with ease. Inside this case, cables are easy to route and hide. This makes building a tidy-looking PC almost too easy.

Is the Phanteks Evolv Series X2 the best PC case of 2025?

What can I say that hasn’t already been said in this review? This case is stunning, surprisingly affordable, and easy to build in. The Evolv Series X2 is a case that’s so good that we want to build a custom PC inside of it. It has us thinking about how we can customise it, and about how we could take things to the next level. It’s rare for a PC case to do that. Usually, PC cases are normal, but this one has our creative juices flowing. It has sparked fresh excitement in the PC building process. This case is special.

The Phanteks Evolv Series X2 deserves the OC3D Exceptional Aesthetics Award. This is the best-looking PC case of 2025, at least so far. Expect to see more of this case on the website and our YouTube channel as we mod it and use it to build TTL’s next PC.
