Thermaltake MINECUBE 360 Ultra ARGB Sync CPU liquid cooler Review

Conclusion

Is the Thermaltake MINECUBE 360 a good CPU cooler?

I’ll be honest, I love the Thermaltake MINECUBE 360 Ultra, but not for the reasons that I usually love new CPU cooling solutions. While it delivers ample cooling performance, it isn’t pushing any boundaries. This isn’t the best-performing CPU cooler out there, but that isn’t the point. The MINECUBE looks fantastic, and sometimes looks trump raw performance.

The MINECUBE 360 is a highly configurable CPU cooling solution. Users can choose where they want their coolers’ hose outlets (top, bottom, or side). They can also choose how they want to orient their screen, as only four sides of the “cube” have LCD screens. In software, users can also choose what content to display on each screen and rotate their content to suit their needs. This makes the MINECUBE ideal for all kinds of PC configurations.

Software is an area where many LCD-clad devices fall over. Devices with controllable LCDs need good software to be utilised effectively. Thermaltake has good software, and that makes setting up the MINECUBE’s screen a breeze—no need for guides. The software is easy to use and intuitive.

In a first for the CPU cooler market, Thermaltake has shipped its MINECUBE 360 Ultra CPU cooler with two sets of blades for each fan. This allows users to switch their fans from a standard airflow orientation to a reverse-flow orientation. This maximises the visual appeal of the Minecube 360 Ultra when the cooler is used as an air intake. That’s great news for cases or test benches where that airflow direction is more desirable. Thermaltake even ships some grease with their coolers for easy fan maintenance. Furthermore, their removable blades make fan cleaning super easy.

If you want the best-performing CPU cooler on the market, this isn’t it. However, if you want the best-looking CPU cooler available, this is a serious contender. We’ve given the MINECUBE 360 Ultra an OC3D Innovation Award, and it’s not JUST because of its four screens. This cooler is super configurable, has excellent software, and ships with features that other brands haven’t even considered. Who else has fans that support both standard and reverse airflow configurations? Who else ships thermal grease with their fans for easy fan maintenance? This product is filled with great ideas. For that, this product deserves a thumbs up.
