Meet the Valkyrie Surge SL125

Valkyrie is a relative newcomer to the CPU cooling market, but it is ready to make a splash. The company has many new products on the horizon, and we will be getting many of them in for testing soon. Today, we will start our Valkyrie journey with the Surge SL125, a low-cost single-tower CPU heatsink that promises to shake up the budget cooler market.

The Surge SL125 is a single tower heatsink that’s cooled using four heatpipes, a 48-layer fin stack, and a single RGB illuminated 120mm fan. Aesthetically, we are pleased by the appearance of these coolers. This may be a budget cooler, but that doesn’t mean that looks don’t matter.

The Valkyrie Surge SL125 will be available in both Black and White, with the white model featuring white painted fins. Note that the black version uses an unpainted finstack. These coolers ship with one fan, though a second fan can be installed to enhance their cooling performance.

Valkyrie Surge SL125 Specifications

Out of the box, the Valkyrie Surge SL125 supports all modern mainstream CPU sockets. This includes AM4, AM5, LGA1700, LGA 1851, and many others. The cooler ships with a single 120mm A-RGB fan, though the cooler can be upgraded with an extra 120mm fan.

The cooler uses four composite heatpipes to transfer heat to the cooler’s single tower 48-fin aluminium finstack. Valkyrie promises users 230W of cooling capability on the box with its SL125. Below are the cooler’s full specifications.

Pricing

Both the black and white versions of this CPU cooler are priced at €32,90 in Europe and $35.99 in the US.

Currently, Valkyrie’s Surge SL125 is available from the company’s website.

OC3D CPU Cooler Test Rig Specifications

Last year, we built a new PC for CPU cooler testing. This new PC has a newer, hotter-running CPU, a more power-hungry graphics card, and a cooling layout that is common for today’s gaming PCs. Simply put, we have moved to more modern hardware so that we can better test modern CPU cooling solutions.
