AMD Ryzen 3 3100 and Ryzen 3 3300X Review

AMD Ryzen 3 3100 and Ryzen 3 3300X Review

Test Setup

We were super happy with the X570 Gigabyte motherboards and so have used the Aorus Master for our Ryzen 3 testing. It’s a great motherboard at a mid-price point and might be exactly the type of motherboard an enthusiast would use for these chips. The AMD platform is all about future expandability so getting a solid platform you could upgrade into is more important than it is with the Intel “new socket/chipset for each CPU” model.

We’ve tried to include as many lower-end CPUs as we have data available to us. Naturally as a lot of CPU releases in recent times have been multi-core monsters, and our benchmark suite is constantly evolving, some tests have more data available than others. If we have it, it’s included.

Clock Speeds

The Ryzen 3 3100 boosts pretty well and the Ryzen 3 3300X goes even further. Exactly what you’d expect given their specifications and placement in the AMD Ryzen range. The day may come when we’ll bemoan a mere 4 GHz clock speed on a 4C/8T CPU, but it is not this day, and particularly not at this price.
