Our CPU temperature testing is a juxtaposition between best and worst case scenarios. We run a seriously heavyweight CPU cooler, which shows the best use case, and then torture the system for 30 minutes to get our peak reading. Otherwise known as the worst case scenario. Power is a good reflection of the overall efficiency of your CPU. As you’ll also know from high school physics work is heat. Thus more efficient equals cooler, with the host of benefits that brings.
