Thankfully AMD always ensure that their current socket lasts for a massive amount of time, and with the MSI MEG X670E Ace we have a high end motherboard with a speedily updated BIOS. All of which means that we can plug our Ryzen 9000 series processors into the AM5 socket of the MSI MEG Ace and still get accurate results. Otherwise our test setup will be very familiar to our regular visitors.
Clock Speeds and Voltages
We’ve got a similar arrangement as we had with our first look at the AMD Ryzen 9000 series. Stock performance, PBO performance, and for the 9900X we’ve also got a few results with our 8000MHz G.Skill DDR5 kit. Given the intense amount of cores and high clock speed, alongside the pre-release drivers and BIOS, the Precision Boost Overdrive isn’t as effective yet as it is on current models. But that’s why we test things.
