AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D and 7900X3D Review
Test Setup
Times change and we must change with the times. We usually refresh our test systems as late as possible to ensure we have the most results available for comparisons. Many sites will just test two or three things with a setup and then move on, which is fine for them but we know that you are intelligent readers who prefer a deep comparison. However, our test rig has been with us since the 3000 series Ryzens and 10th Generation Intel CPUs, so it was time for an update and the release of the gaming focussed Ryzen X3D Processors has been the perfect opportunity to grab a Nvidia RTX 4090 and get to work.
For you, this won’t mean much, for us it mean a fortnight of extra testing so we had some good results to compare the new Ryzens against, whilst also ensuring our CPU test system will be useful to us for at least a couple of years. So if your favourite CPU isn’t here, remember there are only so many hours in a day, but also if it’s not here it’s probably older than the 3000 series or 10th Gen and thus any upgrade will be an upgrade.
