ASUS ROG Z890 Maximus Hero Preview
Box of Goodies
Box of Goodies
Has a box ever promised more? Maybe the box at the end of Se7en had larger stakes, although the content mystery has long gone, but a whole ROG box? Count us in. Just imagine how it must feel to lift the lid and reveal the contents. Oh we can do that. Okay let’s go.
It’s crazy to lift off a box and reveal two super-desirable ROG products just sitting there. And that isn’t, as you’ll see, all. We know this is strictly a press pack, but it is worth looking through. If these were on shelves, who wouldn’t be tempted?
The ROG Ryujin III cooler is a fantastic performer if you don’t really mind noisy pumps. Your writer despises system noise, but that’s because all these words take a long time to write so I regularly spend a dozen hours a day here. If you’re the headphones on, game up loud type then you’ll never notice, and instead can enjoy the ARGB lighting and low temperatures.
To ensure we are all running with hardware that has been proven to work together you get a Kingston Fury memory kit in the box.
If you’ve never seen the ROG RG-07 Thermal Paste Kit in action we recommend going immediately to this link and scrolling down to the video. Think of all the hours we spent finding the best way to apply thermal paste. Apparently wasted.
As always with ROG you get some stickers too. Does anybody use these for anything? Genuine question. We can understand a case badge, and perhaps the circular ROG Eye, but the rest?
There might come a day when the Republic of Gamers box doesn’t give us the fizz, but it’s not this day. The benefits of nearly two decades of quality products.
A thumbstick full of manuals and drivers as well as a bottle opener so we can enjoy some frosty beverages whilst everything installs. You’re too kind to us, ASUS. Next time supply the beers too.
