ASUS TUF Gaming X870-Pro W NEO Review

As always the top left is where we find the 12V CPU power inputs. Nice that even here ASUS have used pale plastic rather than black. Attention to detail.

That continues on the top right. White plastics everywhere. The only place it needs to be clear the headers are different – CPU fans – the plastic is still not black. The devil is in the details and the closer you look at the TUF NEO, the more details you see.

Front panel USB is available in both Type-A and Type-C. It’s crazy how Type-A still exists when Type-C is so clearly superior.

Speaking of front panel USB, the TUF has three USB 2.0 front panel headers. Perfect if you’ve got a penchant for a in-case screen or AIO.

Another example of the quality that the TUF brand has obtained is the number of chassis fan headers. It used to be one or maybe two. Heck we see plenty of motherboards with just three. To get four, at this price, very nice.

Around the back we have the cut-out we showed you on the previous page, as well as the good selection of USB ports available on the NEO. Can anyone think of another motherboard that has the LAN port this high up? Because we can’t.

Lastly the X870 TUF NEO has two Gen5 M.2 slots and two Gen4 ones. Perfect for that blazing fast storage we all love so much.
