In Detail

As we move downwards the USB 3.2 Type-C and Type-A front panel headers are perfect for those of you with a suitable case who want to avoid having to fumble around the back of your system. We’ve also got another fan header.

Just two SATA ports are found where we normally have SATA ports. One of the tell-tale ‘affordable’ elements of the TUF.

The other two SATA ports are found vertically mounted on the bottom edge. No we don’t understand it either. It’s not like the plastic for a stack of four doesn’t exist. We’re sure that some PCB designer somewhere can explain, but purely from an aesthetic point of view we dislike vertical ports and we dislike splitting our drives across different bits of the PCB. It’s untidy. However, we’re fans of the Thunderbolt USB 4 header down here above the front panel connectors, and another fan + pump combo for the demanding coolers amongst you.

Three USB 2.0 headers are a common sight now. It’s funny how the introduction of a new technology, in this case RGB AIOs, has led to a longer shelf life for an old piece of tech, in this case USB 2.0.

Next to the Realtek S1220A 7.1 channel audio board is two more of the ARGB/RGB AURA lighting combos, just next to a further fan header.

The last fan header is perfectly positioned for the exhaust fan in your case, and is found just beneath the IO section.

A better look at the heatsinks which adorn the 14+2 70A Power Stage. Either the ROG motherboards are over-engineered with their 100A plus power stages, or the TUF will be slightly stretched running a Ryzen 9 7950X.

Lastly around the back we have a selection of USB ports in both the annoying A and ‘why didn’t they think of it sooner’ C types. You’ve got the antenna points for the WiFi 6E, as well as a 2.5G ethernet if you prefer a hard-wired connection. There are even HDMI and DisplayPort outputs if you so wish.
