Gigabyte X870E Aorus Master Preview

Introduction

If there is a new chipset, you can be sure that everyone is producing a model. As always here at OC3D we’re limited with how much we can tell you prior to launch. However, we’re allowed to show the new AM5 motherboards off, and that’s what we are doing over the next few days. It’s good to whet your appetite.

Gigabyte have been pumping out motherboards for longer than we care to remember. The Aorus range has been around for ten years now, celebrating it’s decade this year. Famously Horus was a Falcon, and Aorus is based upon this, which is why they have a Falcon head as their logo. AMD models in particular have been a firm fixture in their lineup. The last Aorus Master we reviewed on the AM5 platform was the X670E. Today we’ve got the X870E Aorus Master for your perusal.

Our full performance review will be available at launch on the 26th of September (2024, future people). In the meantime come with us for a tour of the newest flagship offering from the Aorus arm of Gigabyte.

Technical Specifications

The colour scheme of the Aorus boxes is largely teal and pink, which are soft and graduated until they’re purple. In the pre-release blurb Gigabyte are clearly leaning very heavily into this pair of hues. We’re not sure if we like the uniqueness, or prefer the blend into purple on the box. It definitely grabs the attention in a world of monochrome specifications.
