With an entirely new platform we’ve taken the opportunity to update our test system to include Windows 11. We’ve also got some DDR5 from Corsair in the form of the Dominator Platinum. Plenty of scope to make the new 12th Generation Intel CPUs perform to their best. For the ASUS Z690-Plus TUF Gaming D4 tests we’ll be utilising the familiar DDR4 kit that has served us well for so long. We could’ve gone for something ridiculous like a ultra-low CAS, speed binned. 4000+ MHz kit, but we want to stick with the kind of kit that most people will choose. If you’ve got the cash for that RAM you probably aren’t looking to transfer it to your new system, after all.
