Intel Core i7-5960X Review

Sandra

After the relatively disappointing minor release that was the i7-4790, the difference between the old LGA2011 socketed CPUs and the new LGA2011 v3 CPUs is so great that we’re still stunned. The goalposts have been moved so far it’s almost like we’re playing a different sport. Or, if you’re American and goalpost metaphors don’t work as well, its as if they changed it to 3 balls for a walk. The consistency of the performance is excellent, and how well it responds to even slight increases in bandwidth, from faster DDR4 speeds for example, is top notch.
