MSI X299 Gaming Pro Carbon Review

MSI X299 Pro Gaming Carbon Review

Introduction

Hopefully you’ve been keeping up with the various reviews we’ve been posting here at OC3D of late. With the release of the X299 happening at the same time as the X370 – and we imagine soon the X399 – we’re constantly moving back and forth between Intel and AMD products in our bid to provide you with the widest range of content whilst still ticking off all the major models.

Last month we gave you a full preview of the MSI X299 Pro Gaming AC Carbon and today we finally bring you the benchmarks to go along with that preview. We’ll cover the basics here too. Just in case by some hideous twist of fate you have neither read the MSI X299 Gaming Pro Carbon Preview nor have the time to read it now – perhaps you have a bomb awaiting defusing or a plane to land – so that everyone is up to speed.

Let’s get down to business.

Technical Specifications

The Carbon follows along with all the X299 motherboards we’ve seen so far in that it has a huge selection of connection options and high bandwidth technologies allowing you to extract the very maximum possible from your hardware. There are plentiful USB 3.1 ports, multi GPU support, U.2 and dual M.2 for your speedy storage devices as well as the all-important GigaLAN and AC WiFi to keep you plugged in to the online world.
