Overclocking

The overclocking of our Core i9 7900X was easy on the MSI X299 Pro Gaming Carbon, although the temperatures were somewhat higher than we’ve seen on other motherboard which meant that we were limited to a mere 4.5 GHz rather than the 4.6 GHz we’ve more commonly achieved. Although with 20 threads available 100 MHz is hardly going to make so much of a difference. More positively the memory overclocking matched up to the best of the limited number of X299 motherboards we’ve tested so far. Let’s find out how it scores.
