NZXT N7 Z370 Preview – Introduction

NZXT is a massive brand in the PC building marketplace, offering consumers a variety of products that range from cases to cooling fans and even all-in-one liquid cooling solutions.

Earlier this year, NZXT revealed that they were entering the motherboard market, creating their N7 Z370 for Intel’s high-end Coffee Lake series of processors, sparking the interest of a large number of PC enthusiasts.

At launch, NZXT didn’t distribute their N7 Z370 across many members of the tech press, leaving consumers with a limited look at their latest product offerings. Over the past few days, NZXT has contacted us and has sent us a review sample, finally giving us an opportunity to put their N7 Z370 through its paces to see whether or not the motherboard is worth its high asking price.

As hardware enthusiasts, we are excited to see what the new kid on the motherboard block are capable of, especially after taking into account some of the unique design elements that NZXT are bringing to the table.

Customisation

One of NZXT’s unique selling points it the N7’s customisability, shipping with both Matte White and Matte Black options for the board’s coverings, while also offering users coloured heatsink cover kits for the motherboard’s VRM and chipset heatsinks.

Colour options for NZXT’s heatsink kits include Glossy Purple, Glossy Red, Glossy Blue, Matte Black and Matte White, though aspiring modders could expand these options by buying a white cover kit and painting it any colour they wish. If you want to make a green motherboard you can, it’s just not a stock option.

NZXT’s colour options are designed to match the company’s case offerings, especially their new H-series, allowing users to purchase motherboard, case and lighting solutions that all exist within the same software ecosystem. This compatibility enables NZXT’s CAM software to control the N7 Z370’s nine fan connectors (1x CPU_FAN, 1x AIO_PUMP, 1x W_PUMP and 6x SYS_FAN), allowing users to create a cool and quiet system.
