Up Close Continued

Following on from the previous page, next to the first two NZXT RGB headers are two more system fan headers, perfect if you plan to have a hardcore 13th Generation Intel CPU in your rig and their voracious cooling appetite.

The bottom edge has two more NZXT RGB headers, giving you a lot of choice in cable routing instead of being forced to stretch extension cables behind the motherboard tray. Onboard power and reset switches allow you to test your build before plumbing it into your case, perfect if you’re going all in on a new build. There is nothing worse than cable-tying everything only to discover one of your components was build by the trainee late on a Friday.

Moving along we have three further system fan headers for all your cold air intake needs, and two USB 2.0 front panel headers for either case use or control of your AIO.

Lastly the edge connectors are wrapped up by two dedicated ARGB headers if you have lighting that isn’t part of the NZXT ecosystem, as well as the front audio should you still use a 3.5mm headset.

As well as the matte black 2oz copper PCB and smooth heatsink design the VRM is a 16+1+2 DrMos design, ensuring you have plenty of juice to power the 13th Generation Raptor Lake CPUs that fit into the LGA1700 socket.

Lastly, beneath the bottom cover are the three M.2 slots. All of them PCIe 4.0 to go with the four SATA ports for all your storage needs. You can also see the controller for the WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 just next to the CMOS battery.

NZXT deserve a lot of credit for eschewing market trends back towards neutral colour schemes and remaining with their easily recognisable white design. Obviously the N7 Z790 is available in black too, should you want that, but we think that their position as about the only manufacturer sticking with white is a fantastic way to get sales from those who have been disappointed by the silver-y nature of a lot of the current motherboards on the market. The sub-£300 price point only adds to this attractiveness.
