AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT with XFX, Sapphire and PowerColor
Introduction eand Technical Specifications
Introduction
It’s been a long time since we first reviewed the AMD Radeon RX 7600. Suffice to say the announcement and quick launch timescale of the RX 7600 XT came as something of a shock. We assumed AMD had given up on their 7000 series cards and devoted their energies to the future 8000 series. However, as you can see from the technical specifications below, this is basically a slightly faster card with twice the GDDR6 memory onboard.
Where the RX 7600 XT is probably most interesting, beyond the huge memory increase, is the new drivers that come along with it. The AMD Software version 24.1.1 introduced AMD Fluid Motion Frames. We’ll let them describe it :
The latest update to AMD Software version 24.1.1 brings a transformative new feature called AMD Fluid Motion Framesâa cutting–edge, frame generation feature that brings increased frame rates and smoother movement for game–winning performance across all DirectX® 11 and DirectX® 12 games. AFMF is part of the HYPR–RX profile which can be enabled in one simple click on the AMD Software home tab now and will bring stacked performance not only with RSR but also titles that have AMD FSR support.
In other words, this is finally the release of the software implementation of the Nvidia Frame Gen technology that has been rumoured for a long time. Any opportunity to utilise a software version means that it should work on every game, because it’s not reliant upon a setting within the game itself, but within the driver. We’re sure you’re excited too. Is this the golden goose, or merely an egg? There is only one way to find out. On hand we have three of the new cards. Firstly, the XFX Qick 309. Secondly, the Sapphire Pulse. Thirdly the PowerColor Hellhound. We’ll look at them first and then get down to business. Ready?
