AMD RX580 PowerColor Red Devil Review

PowerColor RX580 Red Devil Review

Up Close

We have the famous PowerColor Red Devil version of the RX580 on test today. PowerColor, and their Devil range in particular, have been part of the Radeon range since time immemorial and we’re delighted that PowerColor remain committed to AMD graphics, especially given how good all their previous Devil products have been.

Much like the RX480 before it the compact dimensions are probably the first thing you noticed about the RX580 Red Devil, particularly if you’ve been used to some of the lengthy nVidia offerings. It’s perfect for those of you with compact cases. The card itself is very attractive in its red and black colour scheme and the all metal shroud lends an air of quality to proceedings that the more common plastic ones just cannot match. Heck, PowerColor have even supplied a backplate with the Red Devil, complete with pentagram symbology. The idea of a pentagram as an occult image associated with Satanism is a very recent interpretation of this ancient symbol, and so even the devout amongst you can purchase this without fear of upsetting your chosen deity.

Power inputs are two 6pin PCIe types, in keeping with the slightly enhanced power draw possibilities that the RX 580 has when compared to the RX 480 that preceded it, whilst at the business end three DisplayPort, an HDMI and a DVI cater for all your connectivity needs. It’s a good looking card as we think you’ll agree.
