ASUS ROG RTX 5070 Ti Strix Review
Conclusion
Conclusion
The Nvidia 5000 series has seen a somewhat controversial launch. Price was very much one of the biggest issues. But even if you had recently had a rich old Uncle die, there were, and to some degree still are, massive supply problems. Things being hard to procure make it easy for scalpers, and even disreputable shops, to price gouge the heck out of customers. All in all we ended up with a range of cards that the Venn diagram of those who could afford one and those who could find one to buy were two separate circles.
If, however, you do sit in that paper thin overlap, the RTX 5070 Ti is probably the best choice. It’s all the card you actually need. As you can see from our testing today there is nothing you can throw at it that it can’t handle. 4K Ray-traced Cyberpunk 2077? No problem. Heck you can turn on the hugely expensive – in performance terms – path tracing mode and you only need the basic frame generation to pass 70 FPS. It’s worth bearing in mind that Nvidia’s Frame Generation technology is so mature that you can’t spot the difference with it on and off. Other than the extra FPS. It’s witchcraft.
Strix-ly Ballroom
Naturally the ASUS ROG Strix version of the RTX 5070 Ti has all the elements we’ve come to expect from arguably the biggest name in gaming hardware. The side has an ARGB light bar which wraps around the front to give the fans lighting too. The cooler is a beast, able to keep the card frosty under the most taxing circumstances. It’s not just cool but quiet too. Things which aren’t always guaranteed to go hand in hand. Like all Republic of Gamers products the build quality is beyond reproach. It’s just a great card.
We love a simple decision. The RTX 5070 Ti is the best of the Nvidia 5000 range when you balance price and performance. The ASUS ROG Strix cards have plenty of glitz and glamour so you can show it off on the socials. In short if you want a card that can do it all at 4K there are few better choices, winning the ASUS ROG RTX 5070 Ti Strix our OC3D Gamers Choice Award.
