ASUS GTX1070 Strix Review
Up Close
The DirectCU III cooler looks fantastic with a combination of angles and matte black finish leaving it looking like a cross between a modern fighter jet and an motorsport prototype.
Surrounding the fans are the first of two AURA lighting spots that you can control with the ASUS software. The other being the ROG logo on the backplate. The wholly neutral colouring of the cooler and the ability to pick an hue you choose certainly puts the ASUS Strix up there with the nicest looking cards around.
It’s not just the looks of the cooler of course, but the performance matters too. The GTX 1070 Strix cooler has a seriously high fin density hidden behind that attractive two-slot-width shroud.
Power is supplied by a single 8pin PCIe input, which provides enough to support the card regardless of how high you want your clock speed to go. The efficiency of the nVidia Pascal GPU has benefits to your cable management as well as your power bill.
