Up Close/Test Setup

Starting off with the making sure we’re not CPU bound, as much as possible, we have an ASUS Rampage IV Extreme. Beneath the Corsair H100 cooler lies our Core i7-3960X overclocked to 4.6GHz. Data is pumped via Quad-Channel Corsair GTX8 2400Mhz RAM.

What is better than a ASUS Mars 2 at the heart of your system? Oh yes, two of them in SLI. As much as we are used to handling some hefty hardware setups we never quite get used to seeing £2200 worth of GPUs sitting patiently waiting to be abused.

Besides the obvious stuff we’ve also got on hand a 3D Monitor, three Iiyama Prolite monitors for widescreen gaming. Underpinning everything is a pair of Corsair AX1200 PSU’s and Windows 7 x64.
