Cooler Master Tempest GP2711 Review

Introductions

Cooler Master have been famous for many years for high quality cases and cooling options. Recent times have seen them expand into peripherals and streaming gear. Today sees the launch of two new monitors. The GM2711S we’ve also reviewed today is a blinding monitor for the money. What if you have a little more wiggle room in your budget and want to push the boat out without hitting four figure displays? The Cooler Master Tempest GP2711 could be the very thing.

Like the GM the Tempest GP2711 is a 27″ 1440 monitor with excellent colour gamut. However, that is where the similarities end.

The Tempest GP2711 has a lot of the high end features that are trickling down from televisions, which are always at the forefront of new technologies. The GP2711 boasts a Quantum Dot VA panel with 165Hz refresh rate. A peak HDR brightness of 1500 nits allow it to hit HDR1000 certification, a massive step up from the ‘bare minimum’ HDR400 support normally seen on panels at this price point. Also the 1ms Moving Picture Response Time coupled to the 5ms Grey-to-Grey should ensure almost no ghosting or motion blur. With anti-flicker and anti-blue light options this all combines to ensure you should have minimum eye-strain even during those marathon gaming sessions.

Let’s find out.
