EVGA GTX 1070 Ti FTW Ultra Silent Review

Conclusion

Summing up the EVGA FTW Ultra Silent is extremely easy.

We already were big fans of the EVGA GTX 1070 Ti FTW2, and this is as fast as that card, but a teensy bit more power efficient and a bit cooler, but most importantly massively quiet.

Seriously quiet.

So often with graphics cards they are gorgeously quiet on your desktop and then the moment you fire up the game and they start to get warm, so the fans whirr up and you end up sitting next to a vacuum cleaner whilst trying to concentrate on your gameplay. Okay that’s less of a problem if you wear headphones or don’t care about your neighbours and can drown it out with speaker volume, but if you have your system in the same room as anyone else it can be a real problem.

With the EVGA Ultra Silent that problem disappears. Unless you have ears like a bat and really pay close attention you can’t tell the difference between it being idle on your desktop or filling your vision with polygonal death.

Otherwise everything we’ve said about the FTW2 version of this card, and the GTX 1070 Ti in general, holds true. You get performance that approximates an SLI GTX 780 Ti setup, with all the benefits of modern efficiency and wrapped up in a package which is blisteringly fast. The Ultra Silent has the added benefit of living up to its nomenclature and that is why it wins not only our OC3D Enthusiast Award, but the far rarer OC3D Silence Award.

A spectacular card in every regard.
