EVGA GTX 1070 Ti FTW Ultra Silent Review

You would imagine from the packaging that you’re getting a regular GTX 1070 Ti. Considering this not only is a FTW model, but an Ultra Silent edition of the aforementioned, we’re surprised EVGA haven’t made more of an effort to distinguish it from its competition.
That “is this really a special card?” evaporates the moment you free it from its packaging. With a two and a half size slot cooler, a very cool backplate design and EVGAs lighting on board, the Ultra Silent oozes quality. The design might split opinion with its industrial aesthetic that goes heavy on the rivets, but we think it looks the business.
You can really get a sense of the seriousness of the cooler in this short, and the following ones. Plenty of beefy heatpipes, high fin density for maximum surface area, and lots of ventilation holes to stop the hot air getting stuck in pockets.
From side on it’s a little bit of an odd view as the 2 1/2 slot sized cooler doesn’t quite fit up to the triple slot bracket that holds it in place. Obviously we’d prefer three slot bracket holding 2 1/2 slot coolers to a 2 slot bracket with bits of card dangling unsupported. Plus once it’s in your case you’ll never notice. It just makes the bottom photograph look strange. There is a big and clear branding panel on the leading edge. Certainly with this in your system nobody will be in any doubt as to what you own.
