EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 Hybrid Review

The packaging for FTW3 Hybrid belies the product contained within. From the outside you would be forgiven for guessing that it is very much a reference style product, given how closely the box apes the design of nVidia’s own. As you can see from the picture below though, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

An extremely nicely designed surround sprouts a 120mm radiator that gives the FTW3 Hybrid its name.

EVGA haven’t just bolted a 120mm AIO to the board and left it there as they might easily have done. The backplate is unique to EVGA and has a fabulous light up logo which you can see at both the top and bottom of this page, whilst there are plenty of vents to help dissipate what little residual heat there is after the majority has been removed by the cooler. The cooler itself has a copper mounting plate which has been designed to not only focus upon the controlling the thermals of the GPU but also helps keep the GDDR5X memory cool too.

With multiple power phases also producing heat it is important that the only cooling available isn’t solely the AIO cooler, and EVGA have included a large fan to help push air across the card keeping the PCB cool more generally than the focussed nature of the 120mm radiator.

The AIO itself is up to the high standards you would expect to find on a flagship EVGA product with thick braiding protecting the pipes and enough length to give you a certain amount of freedom in placing it within the case.
