The packaging for the Gigabyte RTX 2070 Gaming OC White is nothing if not large. It’s way bigger than we were expecting it to be, and when you put the card next to it you wonder what all that additional room is for. Still, if ‘parcel opening wow factor’ is high on your list of pleasures then it certainly ticks that box.

The cooler is a triple fan design, and has a nice feature in that the centre fan can be reversed to help shift the air in a non-turbulent manner which aids both airflow and heat dissipation. How effective this is we’ll find out in a moment. It also can be turned off entirely when you’re just tooling around on your desktop or playing something that isn’t too taxing, helping keep the card even quieter than it normally is.

Given that we all look at the back side of our card more than we look at the front, it is nice that Gigabyte have made the effort to have an all white backplate. It would have been easy to grab a black one off the parts shelf, so kudos to them for going the extra mile.

The cooler on the RTX 2070 White edition is a dual slot affair, perfect if you’ve got either limited case space or just a lot of additional PCI Express cards.

As you would expect from a modern hardware product the Gigabyte logo is fully RGB, letting you blend the card into your system and choice of lighting.

At the business end of the RTX 2070 we find a 8+6 pin PCIe power input, whilst the display output options consist of three DisplayPort 1.4, an HDMI 2.0b and a USB Type-C.
