Gigabyte OC Gaming 12G RTX 4070 Ti Review
Up Close
Regular readers will know we’ve always been keen to see the design on the front of the Gigabyte boxes to be transformed into a real case, but here we’ve got a robot and a hologram. Okay then.
As part of their Gaming range Gigabyte keep all the flashy bits for their Aorus range of cards, which means that the Gaming models are perfect for those of you who want a little less rhinestone in your case. We know that just as many people like understated stuff as like the flashy ones. We’re happy as long as there is a choice.
The backside is the bit that most of us will look at, and Gigabyte have taken the opportunity to have a massive airflow vent on the backplate. It takes up very nearly half the card. If you’ve ever feared not being able to get enough airflow to the top half of your case, then the Gigabyte RTX 4070 Ti will soothe your fevered brow.
Side on the Gigabyte Gaming aims for simplicity rather than anything over-designed. A thin shroud leaves plenty of room for the airflow to carry the hot air off the huge heatsink and away from the GPU.
The gap inbetween the two main sections of heatsink offers three things in a small space. Firstly the current Nvidia power connector we’ve all just about got used to. Above that is the famous Gigabyte DualBIOS system offering either OC BIOS or a Silent one, and lastly you can see the highly polished copper heat pipes. We’ll never get tired of shiny copper. Lovely.
The “bottom” side echoes the top with a lot of space to expel the hot air whilst also giving you a good look at how high the fin density is.

Lastly the standard selection of Nvidia outputs in the form of three DisplayPorts and one HDMI. All of them support up to 8K60, giving you a bit of futureproofing, or supporting your current monitor if you’re really flush with cash.
