Gigabyte RTX 4090 Windforce 24G Review

Introduction

If you were with us yesterday you’ll have seen the insane performance available from the newest addition to top of the Nvidia range of graphics cards.

We’d barely recovered from seeing how much of a benefit the RTX 3090 Ti had when compared to the vanilla RTX 3090, and no sooner than we had and Nvidia unleashed this beast upon us. It makes an absolute mockery of whatever game you choose to throw at it. Any card that can take Cyberpunk 2077, a notoriously demanding title, and make you run out of ways to make it look better without dropping below 60 FPS is a an undeniable superstar. Price notwithstanding.

That was yesterday though when Nvidia wanted the spotlight all to themselves. Today the main manufacturers are allowed to unleash their take on the card, and first up we have the Gigabyte RTX 4090 Windforce 24G. There are a lot of cards in the Gigabyte RTX 4090 set, ranging from this model all the way up to the hugely desirable Aorus Waterforce. The Windforce remains a triple slot card, but before we show it off let’s have a quick look at the specifications.

Technical Specifications

The Windforce RTX 4090 24G is pretty much the base model in the Gigabyte Ada Lovelace range, so it’s not a huge surprise to see that it has identical specifications and clock speed when compared to the Nvidia Founders Edition. This card is all about sticking to one manufacturer in your system, or any additional cooling that the Windforce triple fan design can bring to the table.
