1080p Testing with AMD R9 Fury X and Nvidia GTX 980Ti

When moving to Nvidia’s GTX 980Ti and AMD’s R9 Fury X we can see that 1080p gaming presents very little challenge to both GPUs, with the game having difficulty getting either to run at under 90FPS at Ultra settings. This will greatly please those who have the combination of a High refresh rate display and a high end system, especially considering the fact that until last September this game was going to release with 30FPS framerate lock.

At this resolution Nvidia’s GTX 980Ti has no trouble outperforming AMD’s R9 Fury X, so much so that the minimum framerates for our GTX 980Ti are often higher than AMD’s average framerates. This by no means means that AMD’s performance is bad in this game, as a minimum FPS value of 84FPS at Ultra settings is still great framerate, it just means that Nvidia’s performance is better.

Again moving up to Ultra we see that AMD is able to catch up to Nvidia a little, but Nvidia is the performance leader at 1080p.
