Conclusion

A lot of reports were floating around stating that the PC version was in development until launch day and so far we have no reason to believe otherwise. Imagine if this game was delayed for a week and this patch was available on day 1, how much negative press would Hello Games have avoided? 

Over the past 24 hours, two patches have been released on PC, one which was 20.7MB and another which was around 60MB. After these two patches, the game has seen some significant performance improvements removing the game’s random hitching issues and drastically improving the game’s performance on AMD GPUs. 

CPU usage has seen some reductions in the game, no longer reaching 100% usage on our i7 6700K like the day 1 version of the game. Hopefully, these improvements will enable gamers with lower end setups to achieve more playable framerates.   

Overall No Man’s Sky has had some huge performance improvements over the past week, making the game easier to recommend from a performance standpoint. Performance on AMD GPUs can still see some huge improvements, but at least the game is now much more playable.    

As it stands No Man’s Sky still has some issues on PC, some that Hello Games will hopefully address in time, but at least for now the game’s performance issues seem to be
