Boost Clock
The capabilities of the GTX 1070 are writ large in the maximum boost clock, getting darn close to the 1.9GHz mark we saw from the Founders Edition GTX 1080. Whilst the GTX 1070 might have less architecture, the fact that it’s still a Pascal GPU shines brightly. We have started keeping track of average boost clocks and the 1070 average was actually 100MHz below the maximum peak. Its going to be interesting watching if the aftermarket coolers and PCB’s can help keep the average closer to the maximum.
