1080p Testing with AMD R9 Fury X and Nvidia GTX 980Ti

When moving to today’s flagship GPUs, the Nvidia GTX 980Ti and AMD R9 Fury X, are able to offer average framerates of over 115FPS ar Epic graphics settings at 1080p, with the game playing at over 265FPS at all times when being played at low settings.

This game is obviously designed to be able to be played with a high framerate on even modest hardware, meaning that those of us with higher end systems will need to be using a high resolution or high refresh rate monitors to be able to put some strain on our hardware.

Right now the highest refresh rate 1080p display on the market is 200Hz, which is a surprisingly achievable refresh rate in overwatch on today’s hardware. Blizzard has clearly done a great job in making overwatch a game that is accessible to both those with high-end and those with low-end systems.

Nvidia’s GTX 980Ti does perform better than AMD’s R9 Fury X, but with such high framerates on both sides the gains when using Nvidia were almost meaningless.
