Zotac RTX 4080 Super Trinity White Review

Conclusion

Graphics cards have a lovely simplicity to them. Without needing to consider connectivity or many of the more complex areas of other hardware choices, you’re instead free to ask and answer a few simple questions. Namely :

Is it within my budget? Of the cards within my budget does it perform the best? Am I going to go deaf when things get hot and heavy?

Clearly the first of those we can’t answer. What we will say, though, is that the RTX 4080 Super is a stunning performer. Easily a match for the RTX 4090 in 90% of scenarios without costing anything like as much. It’s not exactly a dark horse, but it’s a big step on from the vanilla RTX 4080.

Does it perform the best within budget? Within its price sector, unquestionably. As we’ve just said it’s on a par with the vastly more expensive flagship Nvidia model. A quick glance at any of our benchmarks shows that it doesn’t matter whether you want to chill on Pandora at 1440P, or go through the ray-traced neon-soaked Night City at 4K, the Zotac RTX 4080 Super Trinity OC White edition knocks it out of the park. It’s brutally effective at chewing through games, regardless of settings.

Lastly will you go deaf? Well the Zotac Trinity ‘Ice Storm’ cooler does a brilliant job of keeping the card running hard. As we saw a peak of 77Â°C it’s not the coolest card on earth, but as you saw from our average clock speeds the underlying software does an amazing job of balancing heat and performance. When you can average north of 2.5 GHz on such a heavyweight architecture you know things are going well. The three fan design moves a lot of air, but the large cut-outs on the side ensure that air is displaced quickly and so it’s not remotely deafening in hard use.

With a lovely curvaceous design, huge performance and a reasonable price tag, the Zotac RTX 4080 Super Trinity OC White Edition is an excellent card and wins our OC3D Performance Award.
